The trading name of Hoop Pine sometimes includes a very similar species Bunya Pine.

very fine and even.

 

Grain

Growth rings

inconspicuous.

Almost identical to Hoop Pine but slightly pinker and of lower density.

General comment


Easy to dry but care needed to avoid blue stain.

Easy to work.

Unsuitable for steam bending.

Glues well.

Common uses

Plywood, joinery, furniture, panelling.
